Located on Avenida Prefeito Orlando Oscar Baumhardt, s/n°, in Linha Santa Cruz, approximately 12 minutes by car from downtown Santa Cruz do Sul, Luiz Beck da Silva Airport was inaugurated in 1960 and had its runway asphalted in 1984.
The airport offers a variety of services, including administrative headquarters, a municipal guard station, an aircraft maintenance workshop, and an aeroclub, which provides scenic flights and aviation courses for private, commercial, flight instructor, and instrument-rated pilots. Additionally, it has three hangars with space for fifteen aircraft, a simulator, accommodation, and restrooms. Currently, Azul Linhas Aéreas operates at Santa Cruz do Sul Airport with flights to the capital, Porto Alegre, conducting three weekly trips on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and also has a passenger terminal.
The airport’s runway is 1,180 meters long, 18 meters wide, and is at an altitude of 653 feet, with nighttime beaconing.
The surrounding area offers beautiful scenery, ideal for outdoor activities, enjoying the sunset, and also for sports such as running, skateboarding, and rollerblading.”
