Located on Guatambúna Street, in Monte Verde District, in an old quarry that has been restored, Santa Cruz Park in only a 10-minute drive from downtown area. Inaugurated in November of 1996, the park is situaded on a green area of over 12 hectares, where incredible 60-million-year old rock walls, reaching 40 meters high, rise up. At the top of the wall is the Park’s main attraction: a 20-meter-high, neon-lit cross that offers a panoramic view of the city. In addition, the park has all the infrastructure needed for visitors, including a restaurant and an amphitheater at the foot of the hill. The area is also used for extreme sports and religious pilgrimages.
